Wully Story

Wully Outerwear is an ethical lifestyle brand that designs and manufacturers premium quality outerwear in Canada. Born from a love of wildlife and a vision of vegan outerwear – we strive to make the best jackets available worldwide while establishing positive social impact along the way.  Whether it’s creating employment opportunities in underserved communities, minimizing our ecological impact or saving the lives of animals – each decision is meticulously made with the same dedication and detail we put into the design of our garments.  In the end, our goal is to deliver product that makes you feel warm, both inside and out.

About Wully Outerwear Banner | Our Mission

Social Impact

When it comes to the production of each one of our garments, we value positive social impact. The first of this is ensuring that there are no animals used or exploited throughout the entire production process. We share proceeds from our profits to support animal charities including The Fur Bearers and Animal Sanctuary. The conservation and respect of animals is always at the forefront of Wully Outerwear’s mission.

Fair labour practices are mandatory along all levels of our supply chain and we have implemented some of the highest labour standards in the world with our Canadian production.  Producing locally limits our carbon footprint and also opens avenues to work with and give back to our community including a mandate to support those with multi barriers to employment.

When selecting fabrics, we gravitate towards those that provide top performance and least ecological impact.  Reducing CO2 emissions is another way we support wildlife.  At Wully Outerwear, we acknowledge that these decisions come with additional challenges, but we think it makes the job that much more rewarding when it gets done right.

About Wully - Social Impact Banner

Founders James Yurichuk and Anthony DeBartolo first met in 1992 playing hockey in Bramalea, Ontario, Canada.  A special bond was built over 25 years as teammates, classmates and eventual best friends. There was never a formal partnership written up when they decided to create Wully Outerwear in 2012 – to this day a handshake at a Toronto bar is good enough for these lifetime buddies.
Born from a mutual love for wildlife, sports and creating, combined with a relationship forged by honesty, longevity and trust.  Wully Outerwear has become the premium, ethical brand it is today.

Design and Performance

At Wully, we are committed to creating an outerwear garment that will last you many years to come. With a design team that is based in the fashion hub of downtown Toronto, our styles are inspired by a vision of progressive and timeless garments.

We are committed to designing a vegan product not only because of the ethical benefits but also from a performance standpoint.  In recent years, technical fabrics have been able to outperform traditional down insulations, including the ability to withstand harsher conditions.  Field tested in all 13 provinces and territories of Canada, we are proud to make products that can serve people everywhere between our 3 coasts.

About Wully Outerwear Banner | Design

Our policy is transparency – we proudly make all of our products in Canada and celebrate the village, town or city they are made in by displaying the origins of each garment.  Beyond the quality and fair labour practices that come with a made in Canada product, it is also important to have our garments crafted by people familiar with the elements and durability needed to survive a harsh winter.
All our flagship products are made in Toronto giving our team the ability to monitor each cut, fold and stitch from start to finish. This is to ensure that there are the highest level of quality and craftsmanship delivered with each garment.  With over 25 materials in a jacket, the construction of each piece is made in an arduously long process that allows us to give the proper care and attention to every detail.
